Didcot Science Park LDO – P17/V2490/LDO. A new public consultation has begun on the proposed Local Development Order (LDO) for the land at Hill Farm, which is on the Appleford side of the landfill site and part of the Didcot Growth Accelerator Enterprise Zone. An LDO avoids the requirement for planning permission for the types and/or classes of development specified. Residents might suggest that the LDO restricts the ‘business use classes’ to those that support Science Vale and avoid increased wider usage such as warehousing.
Development in the area will increase traffic pressures, impact landscape and extend Didcot right up to the drainage lake beside Appleford Level crossings. The area has a very high concentration of HGV traffic beside an operational landfill site and gravel site. The environment is occasionally duty, noisy and not pollution free.
