Hanson Aggregates have submitted two planning applications MW0033/22 & MW0034/22 which seek to remove late working restrictions (currently 150 days) at their gravel works near Appleford Sidings.

This will allow late working for up to 300+ days per annum – every weekday. In addition, the application seeks an early start (6:00am) with late work up to 10:30pm. In effect, a 16.5 hour working day or 97% of waking hours allowing only 7 hours for sleep.

Table

The application is seeking a 267% increase in working hours per annum for at least the next 5 years (with potential for an application for further years)
